Runcorn Golf Club has a friendly and growing junior section with a mixture of ages ranging from
6 to 17.
Golf is an excellent pastime for young people of all ages. In addition to the benefits of an active
lifestyle, golf remains a sport where good behaviour and sportsmanship are still expected and
valued. Learning and playing in this environment helps to develop important skills such as team
spirit, self-discipline, honesty and respect, which will remain with our young people for life.
We provide a friendly and safe environment where young people of all ages can learn and
develop their golf.
We currently have over 40 members in our Junior Section, and we are always pleased to discuss
Junior golf with anyone who is interested.
COMPETITIONS & HANDICAPS
Juniors new to the game can join in the many fun competitions which is a great way to get into
golf without any pressure. We have a regular competition schedule throughout the year and
competitions are aimed at all ages and abilities. Competitions are held most weekends on
Sundays and are played over 6, 9 or 18 holes.
Fun competitions mean fun rules allowing juniors to get the best out of the sport and have a
great time!
At Runcorn Golf Club, parents and carers are encouraged to support their children and
sometimes get the opportunity to play with the juniors in fun competitions which in the past,
has resulted in creating a great atmosphere in the section and the clubhouse with the
whole families getting to know each other and building friendships both on and off the course.
PRACTICE SESSIONS
All junior members are invited to join in our weekly practice sessions that are available with our
Junior mentor, James White. James is a massive hit with the juniors, and they are always keen to
come back week after week to join in.
